‘I-Ching’ stands for one of the ancient methods of divination. Three coins are tossed to create a hexagram and an ancient “Book of Changes†is used to interpret. A question is asked by the individual tossing the coin and the result obtained from 6 coin tosses are recorded. The head and tail combination derived from these coins are used as the pointers for the I-Ching reading The origin of I Ching predates even the earliest record of history. It was in 425 and 221 BC that a collection of various I Ching interpretations were found in a book form. Interestingly, these books survived attacks by conquering kings possibly due to their value in predicting events. I Ching holds the view that nothing happens as a matter of chance and every event brings along a sign. |
